He was
6. Ng Kun decd. "I am Government sesman, W.167, stationed at
Lok Ha Chau. On July 21st I was on reserve duty at the Station
and about 5 p.m. I was cooking rice in the Chinese kitchen at
the side of the compound. I heard two shots from the back, i.e.
from by the flag staff. I ran to the door and looked out into
the compound. I saw the Station Guard running across the
compound towards the Charge Room, and followed him. ahead of me. He went straight to the front verandah and switched
on the alarm bell. I stood for a moment in the passage.
Station Guard ran in his barrack room on the left and I to my room on the right. I was in a panic; I had no idea what was up.
I had heard two shots only. I shut the door of my room.
Another seaman, the station coolie and the Chinese constables'
cook were there. Afterwards I heard several more shots in rapid
